“Trials are a measure of your faith, so be courageous when going through trials in life.” ― Gift Gugu Mona
None of us can expect to go through life without encountering trying times. We all go through seasons where God is disciplining us. God’s sole purpose is to purify us and to bring us to a point where we are righteous before Him. Therefore, God uses pain and hardships to bring us to a place of repentance.
Many of us have read the simple instructions in the Bible for living our daily lives. However, as children of God, we don’t always want to obey those instructions. So, we continue to do what’s right in our own eyes.
And, when we don’t obey, God has to deal with the sin in our lives. Everything we do is not necessarily sin. But, it’s could be something we’re doing that God doesn’t want to be a part of our life. That thing may be okay in someone else’s life, but not in yours. Also, as Christians, there are just some things we should not be a part of and we can’t afford to frustrate the grace and purpose in our life.
Ask God to cleanse your heart because you want to be made in His image and in His likeness.
When God tests His children, His purpose is to strengthen our faith. If we say that we believe God, there’s no other way to prove our belief, unless God takes us through some stuff.
As a high school student, I would get so frustrated with my teacher on days she gave us a pop quiz. I griped about how unfair it was because she didn’t give me an opportunity to study. Mrs. Price often said, “If you listened in class, and you took great notes, you should pass the quiz with no problem. But, if you’re not equipped, expect the grade you’ll get.”
In short, every pop quiz I took. It led me to my success on the semester exam. I aced every quiz with no problem. Every test you’re taking is leading you to your victory every time.
“Trials don’t come to take what you have, they come to supply what you lack” ― Emmanuel Igunbor
True. Trials don’t come to take what you have, but it sure feels like it. Right? It feels like every time you start making progress with reading your bible, carving out devotional time, loving your enemies, and bridling your tongue. The enemy comes to make you feel like your work was all in vain. Keep the faith. It’s not!
Often times when difficulty and pain comes our way, we feel we’ve lost everything and everyone. Remember, untried faith is unreliable faith. You really don’t know how much faith you have until it’s been tried.
If we say we believe God as Christians, no trial or tests should take us by surprise or devastate us because we’re in relationship with Him. God is sovereign over all things. If we believe He is absolutely in control of all things, and we trust Him, how then can we be devastated by the hardships and trials we’re facing?
God will not allow anything to surprise or devastate us. God will sustain us through it. Whether we have little faith, wavering faith, or strong faith. God is still faithful to His promises.
Ask yourself these questions: They could be reasons why you’re being tested. Are you willing to do what God tells you to do when you don’t want to? Are you willing to do what God tells you to do when you don’t think you can do it?Are you willing to do what God tells you to do even when it looks impossible for you to achieve it? Are you unwilling to be obedient to God because it’s something you don’t want to give up? Ask God why are you being tested. He will surely tell you why.
Remember, every time you are willing to be obedient to Him. He is willing to see you through every test. God is causing all things to work together for the good of them that love Him.
In closing, In order for us to be what God wants us to be. We have to go through difficulty, hardships, sorrow, etc. God is always up to something great in our lives. Trust Him!
Commit this to memory…I Corinthians 10:13: There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
God has designed this difficulty and hardship to create a masterpiece. He will not allow certain things to happen to you that you can’t handle. He’s up to something great in your life. He has tailored this difficulty just for you. It fits. God knows what it’s going to take to get your attention.
